What is the AXLearn framework?

June 14, 2024

The AXLearn framework, open-sourced by Apple under the Apache 2.0 license, is a deep learning library designed to support the development of large-scale models.

Built on top of JAX and XLA, AXLearn allows users to compose models from reusable building blocks and integrate with other libraries such as Flax and Hugging Face transformers. It supports training models with up to hundreds of billions of parameters across thousands of accelerators. AXLearn is optimized for public cloud deployment and provides tools for job and data management, catering to applications in natural language processing, computer vision, and speech recognition.
