The concept was introduced by developers Boris Starkov and Anton Pidkuiko during the ElevenLabs London Hackathon. They combined ElevenLabs’ Conversational AI technology with ggwave, an open-source data-over-sound library, to create a system where AI assistants detect when they’re conversing with another AI. Upon this realization, they switch from traditional speech to transmitting structured data over modulated sound waves, enhancing both speed and accuracy.
